Why We Built This
We watched it happen in slow motion. Streaming normalized a world where a billion plays equals a fraction of minimum wage. Where the artists who shaped your taste, who made the records that rewired your brain at 2am — those same artists are quietly disappearing because the math doesn't work anymore.
The algorithm was never built for independent artists. It was built for engagement metrics, for time-on-platform, for the kind of content that spreads fast and means nothing. The underground — electronic, ambient, experimental, jazz, all of it — gets buried under whatever's optimized for the widest possible audience.
We were tired of watching that happen. So we built something different.

We're built around the 1,000 True Fans model — the idea that most independent artists don't need massive scale to build a sustainable creative life. They need the right fans. Fans who show up, who buy the thing, who tell their friends because they can't stop thinking about it.
